Do you have a dua (supplication) that you have been making for a very long time?
Perhaps, for a child, a spouse, a home, a job, or recovery from a chronic sickness.
Do you remember since when you have been asking for that particular thing?
Perhaps 5 years, 10 years, or more.
Have you noticed that year after year, the energy with which you were asking is going down.
The desperation and the conviction is getting weaker and weaker.
Relatable?
Why do we lose interest in asking Allah SWT the very thing that we desperately need?
Is it because we do not need it anymore?
Or is it because we think there is no point to ask?
Have our duas become an amazon delivery package that ‘if not delivered on time – the order will be cancelled’?
Have we become so focused on the outcome, that we are willing to let go of the process? The process of asking Allah SWT.
A process that is a privilege in so many ways;
● Being able to ask Allah SWT is a privilege!
● Being able to raise our hands in front of Him is a privilege!
● Being able to cry in front of Him is a privilege!
● Being able to be desperate in front of Him is a privilege!
● Being able to attach our hopes with Him only is a privilege!
● Being able to empty our hearts in front of Him is a privilege!
How many around us have been deprived of this privilege?
Deprived of the honor to stand before Him!
Is there a loss bigger than that?!
So, the next time you feel your Duas are getting weaker, find a way to Raise Your Duas because He is always listening, even when you feel He is not.
“When My servants ask you O Prophet about Me: I am truly near. I respond to one’s prayer when they call upon Me. So let them respond with obedience to Me and believe in Me, perhaps they will be guided to the Right Way” (2:186).
And know that delay is not denial.
As the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “The supplication of any of you is answered as long as he does not get impatient and say, ‘I made supplication and was not answered” (Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 654)
