Fortnightly Webinar - Why Do We Return to What Hurts Us?
The Hidden Psychology of Human Struggle and Why the Usual Answers Fall Short
Human beings often find themselves repeating patterns they genuinely wish to change. We return to unhealthy habits, revisit thoughts that increase distress, repeat relationship patterns, and continue behaviours that conflict with our goals despite knowing better. This webinar moves beyond simply naming this experience. It is built to dismantle the explanations people currently rely on for their own stuck patterns, the belief that the problem is personal weakness, that willpower alone should have been enough, and that the right fix is simply trying harder.
Drawing on contemporary psychology and Islamic understandings of human nature, the session reframes struggle as a structural rather than moral or motivational problem, and leaves participants with a sharper, more honest question to sit with than the one they walked in with.
Why this Webinar Matters Now:
Modern life provides unprecedented access to information, yet many people continue to struggle with recurring emotional, behavioural, and spiritual difficulties. Most existing content responds to this gap by offering more information, more tips, more willpower frameworks. This webinar takes a different position: that information alone rarely produces lasting change, because it adds clarity without removing the belief that is keeping someone stuck. The session is designed to create a shift in understanding, not simply add to what participants already know.
Key objectives:
Why self-defeating patterns repeat?
Why awareness does not always translate into action?
Unpopular myths about change and growth.
Psychology of human contradictions and more.
Who is it for?
Mental health professionals.
Parents, teachers and imams.
Students of psychology and psychiatry.
Individuals interested in personal growth from an Islamic lens.

Fortnightly Webinar - Beyond Romance: Rethinking Love through Islam and Psychology
What if the way we’ve been taught to understand love is too small and shallow for the human heart?
What if love isn’t something that ‘happens’ to us – but something we learn, cultivate, and answer for?
Modern culture often reduces love to chemistry, compatibility, or emotional highs. Yet the Islamic tradition speaks of love as a spiritual force, a moral commitment, and a path of inner refinement. In our upcoming Solace Fortnightly Webinar with Bela Khan titled, “Beyond Romance – Rethinking Love Through Islam and Psychology”, we will explore how our assumptions about love shape our choices, expectations, and emotional experiences often without us realizing it.
We will reflect on:
– How cultural narratives quietly script our ideas of love
– Why many people feel confused, disappointed, or overwhelmed in relationships
– The difference between emotional intensity and emotional wisdom
– How Islamic teachings expand our understanding of love beyond romance
– What it means to love with consciousness, responsibility, and spiritual clarity
This webinar is a space to rethink love – not as fantasy or fate, but as a deeply human and spiritual journey.
📅Date: 25th April 2026 (Saturday)
⏰Time: 6 pm Makkah Time

What is Islam & Psychology Fortnightly?
The rate at which the impact of secular psychology is expanding is unprecedented in this digital age. Every other person, channel, and platform promotes and advocates ideas for solving life problems. However, the assumptions and the principles bombarded upon us are flawed and twisted. Consequently, it makes us question the degree to which we should apply it in our lives, as much of the advice being showered upon us does not meet Islamic values. Thus, bridging this gap between the modern discourse on psychology and Islamic principles has become the urgent need of the hour.
This is where ‘Islam & Psychology Fortnightly’ comes in!
The integration of Islamic values with contemporary psychology practices makes Solace unique in this field. With this exclusively curated fortnightly webinar series, you can deepen your understanding of key psychological issues and concerns, and learn how these can be navigated on a day-to-day basis without compromising your religious values.
