Fortnightly Webinar - Tarbiyah of Teens
Staying Connected Through Adolescents’ Storms
When your adolescent starts pulling away, closing their bedroom door, or challenging rules they used to accept without question, it is easy to feel like the bond you built is slipping away.
In those moments, their distance can feel like rejection. Their pushback can feel like rebellion.
So we need to ask:
- Is my teenager trying to break the relationship – or are they navigating a massive psychological transition they don’t fully understand themselves?
- What if the pushback I am experiencing isn’t a defect, but a natural developmental phase ?
- And how can I as a parent remain a secure base – an anchor of Mawaddah (affection) and Rahmah (mercy) – when emotional storms threaten to push us apart?
If these questions speak to you, join us for in our upcoming webinar with Sr. Nadhrah Mustafa, where we re-frame how we understand our growing adolescents.
In this session, we will look beyond surface-level behavior. We will use adolescent developmental psychology as a diagnostic lens to understand what is happening in your teenager’s mind, while anchoring our response in the timeless, lived model of the Quran and Sunnah to guide how we respond.
Rather than viewing adolescence as a battleground, we will explore how Prophetic gentleness and patient perseverance serve as the highest forms of psychological co-regulation – allowing you to remain their safe harbor, no matter how wild the open seas get.
Key objectives:
By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
Decode Adolescent Individuation: Learn the psychological distinction between healthy identity formation and actual defiance – so you can respond with clarity instead of fear.
Build a “Secure Base” at Home: Discover how attachment theory mirrors the Quranic paradigm of home as a sanctuary, giving your teen room to explore without feeling abandoned.
Emulate Prophetic Co-Regulation: Understand how staying calm through patience, gentleness and forbearance help regulate your adolescent’s developing self when emotions run high.
Hold the Connection: Practical communication strategies to maintain emotional proximity and trust without suffocating their growing need for autonomy.
Who is it for?
- Parents who want to establish a strong bond with their teen and preteen children.
- Educators and teachers who want to connect with teen students in a more engaging way.
- Members of communities to help understand teens and troubled population.

What is Islam & Psychology Fortnightly?
The rate at which the impact of secular psychology is expanding is unprecedented in this digital age. Every other person, channel, and platform promotes and advocates ideas for solving life problems. However, the assumptions and the principles bombarded upon us are flawed and twisted. Consequently, it makes us question the degree to which we should apply it in our lives, as much of the advice being showered upon us does not meet Islamic values. Thus, bridging this gap between the modern discourse on psychology and Islamic principles has become the urgent need of the hour.
This is where ‘Islam & Psychology Fortnightly’ comes in!
The integration of Islamic values with contemporary psychology practices makes Solace unique in this field. With this exclusively curated fortnightly webinar series, you can deepen your understanding of key psychological issues and concerns, and learn how these can be navigated on a day-to-day basis without compromising your religious values.
Share this initiative with anyone who would benefit from such discussions, and help spread the vision of Solace to every corner of the globe.
